Q I’ve been in an on/off relationship with my partner for 18 years, but we’ve been committed for the last six. Although he’s never been physically abusive, he’ll regularly abuse me emotionally by sending texts calling me names and deriding my new business venture. When I try to discuss our issues, he loses his temper and has even punched through doors. I’ve had counselling and, as a result, I’m more resistant to his bullying behaviour, but this causes arguments.
