ON THE WILD SIDE The key to setting a table with loud palm prints is not to overdo the pattern. Balance by removing your table cloth and pairing with plain china or bamboo plates. The look will feel less children’s party, more grown-up. Nigella Lawson has been pairing green with pink for a while, and it’s a colour combo that stays looking fresh. Use just a dash of pink, such as a salt shaker or vase, to inject colour – the merest hint is all you need. Green has more shades than any other colour, and blending them together is rich and enticing.
