I’m early for my meeting with Jessica Hynes. But, as it turns out, so is she. In fact, we first meet in the ladies’ at the Soho Hotel. She’s wearing a soft pink jumper with smart peg trousers and is touching up her make-up at the mirror. Slightly flustered, I introduce myself, knowing she’s seen me and will no doubt wonder why I didn’t if I don’t. She smiles a polite hello and I hurriedly lock myself in the cubicle. ‘See you out there, Ella,’ she calls. I’m impressed and perturbed that she’s remembered my name so quickly.
