Forcing a Shift in Both Speed and Accuracy — and Switching Your Hands, Too

This drill involves not only shifting gears from a fast blast to more-precise shooting, but also switching hands. If you already have a safe, practiced method of swapping the pistol from your dominant (strong) to support (weak) hand you can stick with it. But for this drill our recommendation is to place the pistol on the bench, muzzle facing downrange, when moving it from hand to hand. This ensures nothing gets tangled up. Along the same lines, when shooting one-handed make sure that your non-firing hand is out of the way of the muzzle. Old-school silhouette shooters would place their hand in a pocket, but our preference is to keep it in a fist tucked against your sternum.
