There’s a Norse proverb that says one should not praise ale until it has been drunk, ice until it has been crossed … or a sword until it has been tested. This maxim comes to mind especially when the “sword” in question is a weapon that’s an entirely new reboot of a classic design. It wasn’t all that long ago that a large firearms company with a respectable name (one that rhymed with “Remington”) decided to reboot a classic design they’d initially offered nearly a century ago, the Model 51.
