SUMPED?

I wanted to drain the sump on my 1952 BSA A7 quickly and thought of this modification to make it easier and less messy. It takes just a few minutes rather than half an hour, and then struggling to get it to seal properly. I'm wary of anti-wet-sump valves. I bought a shiny new cast alloy plate from eBay. When I came to fit it, the base flange was way too thick. I couldn't fit the nuts on the fixing studs, let alone the washers. After a pint or three, I came up with this idea instead.
