As you are now no doubt aware, the Raspberry Pi is certainly a versatile little piece of technology. Let’s look at some of the popular projects you can apply to your Pi, starting with one that’s not only the easiest, but also one of the best.

COMPUTER PI First and foremost, the Raspberry Pi is a computer. It has an operating system, built-in productivity apps, the ability to connect to both a home network and the Internet (either wirelessly or through Ethernet), and you can connect a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. It stands to reason, then, that it makes for a remarkably cheap desktop computer. The obvious advantage of using the Raspberry Pi as a desktop computer though, is the fact that it’s so cheap. For around £100 you could easily purchase the Pi, monitor, keyboard and mouse, providing you with a fully-functional computer capable of doing most, if not all, of the things you would do on a computer that costs ten times that amount.
