Revolution ‘N’ IIA-D biomass hoppers

BIOMASS traffic makes the news pages again, with reports of the commencement of metal being cut for a brand new ‘N’ gauge model of the Drax IIA-D biomass hopper wagon, with Revolution Trains expecting the first engineering prototypes in early 2021. The model will replicate the 225 large volume biomass hoppers used to supply Drax power station in Yorkshire with the bulk of the 25000 tons of biomass fuel it needs each day. Trains operate from import terminals at Immingham, Hull, Tyne Dock and Port of Liverpool using Class 60s and Class 66s as traction, both types which are available in ‘N’ gauge from Graham Farish.
