Artist Ibrahim Mahama’s first solo exhibition in Scotland will feature large-scale drawings, sculpture and installations drawing on Ghana’s rail network and its relationship to the country’s people. Known for working with found objects, Mahama’s exhibition will also feature repurposed material from defunct railway infrastructure. Ghana’s railways were built by British engineers to transport minerals and cocoa around what was then the Gold Coast. But much of the network is now obsolete.
