Unique Class 37 receives retro Trainload Metals livery

Europhoenix has had the first of its Class 37s repainted into a retro British Rail livery, with 37901 now in Trainload Metals livery. The work was done at the UK Rail Leasing site at Loughborough in July. It then re-entered traffic on July 24, when it collected Eastern Rail Services’ Mk 3 coaches 10229/413, 11078/095, 12021/064/098 and took them as the 1058 Castle Donington EMDC-Scunthorpe. There, it collected three further HST trailer coaches from the Steelworks (42059/504/511) and then worked the 1448 Scunthorpe-Yarmouth CHS via Spalding. It was March 1991 when 37901 was repainted in this livery for the first time - at Doncaster Works, as part of its first overhaul since it was refurbished in 1986.
