Diesel hike a huge concern to trucking, freight industries

THE increase in the price of fuel from Wednesday is a concern for most. But it is the diesel price hike in particular that is a worry to the trucking and freight industries. Aven Naidu of Avemel Logistics has been involved in the industry for 20 years. He said the latest hike meant some businesses would be forced to close. “We are still licking our wounds coming out of the Transnet strike and the various implications of the recent unrest in the industry, coupled with the impact of the floods earlier this year and so forth.
