Generally, we have mixed feelings about city builders. Godlike power to create and care for a virtual world of our own? Yes please! Budget management and running around to perform menial tasks for people you don’t know? Ew, no thanks, sounds too much like being an adult. Then there are all the complications that follow the genre around like a whining puppy. How remarkable, then, that this example is relentlessly joyful. As it’s a VR game, the ability to zoom in and out to extremes is more impactful than in a 2D experience, and the presentation here means that getting as close to things as possible is sure to raise a smile.
