That’s especially true on PlayStation, where we haven’t even had the other indie hoglike Spark The Electric Jester. Freedom Planet is our closest alternative to classic Sonic, and its sequel is finally heading to the big white obelisk after a successful stint on PC, anthropomorphised animals and all. At first glance, it does look like a ripoff of Sega’s flagship platformer, complete with loops, ramps, mid-air collectibles, and even pinball flippers, but it ends up playing very differently thanks to its emphasis on combat and screen-filling boss battles.
