1 BUY THE RIGHT SIZE Tablets now run the gamut from compact 7in devices to monster XXL slates with 14.6in screens. Which to buy now depends less on your budget than what you need your tablet for. Big-screen tablets can be brilliant for productivity and creative applications – the kind of use cases that would usually have you reaching for a laptop – but they’re also larger and heavier, and sometimes feel too big for comfortable use in the hand. Smaller 7in to 10in tablets can have the opposite problem. They’re great for portability and media consumption, but too small to get more serious work done.
