While it may be sold as a slate, in truth it makes little sense without an accompanying £100 Type Cover to turn it into a mini laptop. This is where its strength lies, as within its tiny frame it holds a powerful enough processor to keep Windows 10 running smoothly. That’s even true of the £529 version, which includes a Pentium 4425Y chip compared to the Core m3 of the £619 option. Both these configurations include 8GB of RAM and a speedy SSD, and while the m3 version is faster – scoring 32 in our benchmarks to 21 for the Pentium – you won’t notice much difference in practice.
