A stylish 27 in monitor with all the trimmings–includin 4K and FreeSync support–for a competitive price

SCORE PRICE £371 (£445 inc VAT) from uk.insight.com I nour recent group test of 35 desktop monitors (see issue 313, p76), only one 27in screen cost less than £500 whilst offering a 4K resolution and USB-C connectivity: the BenQ EW2780U (see issue 313, p82). Despite its £465 price, two insurmountable barriers sat between that screen and a Recommended award. First, its stripped-back feature set and, second, the even more impressive Dell Ultra Sharp U2760Q (see issue 313, p81), which costs £60 more. Our conclusion? Pay the extra. The Philips immediately offers advantages over the BenQ, and not just the fact it #8217;s £20 cheaper.
