Star outre-Manche avec son show télévisé « Later… with Jools Holland », le pianiste est aussi à la tête d’un big band qui arrive cette semaine à Paris.

Pour lui, la symbolique est forte. « Mon père adorait la France, raconte Jools Holland. Ado, il m’a emmené à Paris, dans un club de jazz. Dès qu’il a pu, il m’a poussé sur la scène, où un pianiste se produisait. Ce dernier m’a laissé faire quelques gammes et a raconté ensuite à mon père que j’avais un certain talent. Il était si fier que je sois ainsi “validé” qu’il a parfaitement compris plus tard mon envie de faire de la musique. » Holland est né dans la banlieue de Londres il y a 67 ans.
