Lesley takes us back to basics with this month’s workshop as we look at the useful technique of stippling. Whether you prefer traditional parchment craft or working with templates, stippling is a useful technique to master.

You will need Your basic tool kit plus: Pergamano: Plus: Trace Place a piece of plain parchment paper over the pattern and with a white gel pen, trace the wording. With a white pencil, trace the border and the flowers. Emboss With the 1mm embossing tool, emboss the outlines of the flowers. With embossing tools, shadow emboss the flower petals, from the centre outwards. Stipple Place your work face down over a piece of scrap card (this will give a firmer surface to work on than an embossing mat and should prevent the needle perforating the parchment, but still allow enough give for the stippling to work).
