This book is about the art and architectural treasures in the Veneto, a province in Northern Italy. A primary focus is the work of Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio. To understand and appreciate Palladio, you must visit the Veneto because it is home to over 40 Palladian buildings that are designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This book includes ten curated walks (and a few drives) that direct you to some favorites among the artistic treasures that the Veneto has to offer. In addition to Palladio, the walks include tours of such masterpieces as the Scrovegni Chapel in Padova, the San Zeno Basilica in Verona, and drives to the Prosecco region and Belluno, the gateway to the Dolomites.
