Our Shepherd is the story of Lester Kent Henderson, Jr. and Christianne Ashton Henderson. It details their meeting, their marriage, their life with four awesome children and their dedication to the Lord and their careers. Actually, it is the story of the compassion and love of Jesus Christ, our amazing Shepherd. Christianne was inspired to tell others of how our Shepherd comforts us when we are sad or distressed. Thinking about the delightful life she had with her husband and family, she has been able to grieve and still move forward with the love of Jesus. Knowing that Lester is dwelling in the house of the Lord forever has comforted her and our Shepherd has sustained her to complete this book, even at the age of 82! Christianne Ashton Henderson is a native of East Brewton, Alabama. She has been a resident of Montgomery, since arriving at Huntingdon College in 1959. She married Lester Kent Henderson, Jr., in 1961. Christianne taught English/French at Lee High School before giving birth to Leigh, Aimee and Lester III. She became interested in Special Education, teaching three years at Chisholm Elementary. After the birth of Jessica, she returned to MPS as a psychometrist, becoming a Special Education Supervisor, and principal at Children's Center. Love of writing has been a major component of her life. The Holy Spirit inspired her to write Our Shepherd, remembering and writing about her husband's dedication to our Lord and Savior and his helping many others as bank president and community leader. Our Shepherd was inspired by a chaplain praying the 23rd Psalm as Lester went to "dwell in the house of the Lord. Forever!"'
