I grew up without computers and cell phones. My family didn't have a TV until I was in the third grade, and it had only three channels. We went outside to play and explore the neighborhood with our friends.
Things seem so different today. Students have computers to explain and inform them on what to think. We used sayings to learn by figuring out what they meant. For instance, the quote, "There's more than one way to skin a cat" doesn't literally mean you are going to skin a cat. It means that there is more than one way to do something.
This book of sayings is my way of giving back to others. I can't choose how you learn. I can make this book available for those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. I hope that it will open your minds to a new way of learning. We use these sayings, expressions and pearls of wisdom daily, without being aware of it.
