Julie and her daughter, Emily, had just entered the 18th-century Wright’s Ferry mansion when the brick floor, laid in a herringbone pattern, took her breath away. In the middle of restoring an 18th-century woolen mill herself, Julie instantly knew she wanted the same sort of rustic, handmade brick for her own front hall. Finding nothing on the market with the right handmade quality, and thin enough to lay like tile, she decided to make her own brick tiles.
