Since he started Clay Squared to Infinity, more than 25 years ago, he’s been rolling out clay with a rolling pin and hand-cutting whimsically shaped tiles, like peacocks and stars, with cookie cutter-like dies. When Blanc viewed his initial tile installations, he “realized that it was the things that weren’t perfect that were way more interesting than the perfect ones.” Today, Clay Squared to Infinity is known for richly glazed tile in unexpected shapes. Tiles are innovatively handcrafted to suit buildings from Late Victorian to contemporary.
