Col Sunderland’s JAPs Colin Sunderland is a long-term member of our local Taree and District Classic and Vintage Motorcycle Club and is highly regarded for his outstanding JAP engines mounted in duplex BSA frames. Colin was the eldest of five boys growing up on a farm outside Temora in the south-west part of NSW. When he was a youngster his father purchased a JAP speedway machine which the boys used to ride around a track they built on the property. His brother Bob later purchased a 1949 JAP machine as well that was also used on the farm. So began a long-term love affair for the Sunderland brothers with the JAP marque.
