Ocean Waves is a collection of poems from the last six years of my life. I experienced some of the darkest times of my life during those years and began to put my emotions into words to cope with everything I was going through. During this time, the ocean also became my place of peace and where I was able to feel relief from the stress of life. These poems tell the story of a young woman who was hurting, who wanted to heal, and who learned to love again - the Storm, the Night, and the Sunrise. When I was writing these words, they brought me release and comfort. Now, they show me how I've grown and bring me back to the peace of the ocean. Allow yourself to feel the emotions written in this book, and I hope you find something in my words that speaks to your heart. Abigail is an engineer from Saugerties, NY. She has a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering and works full time on designing nuclear-powered rockets. An engineer can be a poet too? Yes! Abigail began writing poetry during a very difficult time in her life, and it became a way for her to express emotions she didn't know how to describe. The ocean became an important part of her life during those hard years and inspires the themes of her writing.
