I want you to imagine hunger like a fuel gauge in your car that goes from zero to 10. Zero is totally empty: you’ve hit a wall, you might feel woozy as if you have low blood sugar, you’re ravenous. Five is neutral, neither hungry nor full. There’s no sensation in your stomach, you’re not really aware of it, you’re just going about your life. Ten is stuffed, so full you feel like you’re going to burst. Ten is like Christmas Day after turkey, pudding and half a box of chocolates.
