Princess Anne has hit out with a characteristically blunt message for her nephew Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Anne appeared to take a swipe at their bid to reinvent what it means to be a royal and told them: “Please do not reinvent that particular wheel.” The interview reportedly took place just after the couple announced their decision to step back from life as senior royals, and Anne made it clear how she felt about members of her family challenging the status quo. “I don’t think this younger generation probably understands what I was doing in the past,” Anne said in the veiled swipe. “Nowadays, they’re much more looking for, ‘Oh let’s do it a new way’.
