"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
The testimony of Francisco Cortez is a life story that spans troubled youth, prison, and gang life before the Lord's calling voice becomes too loud to ignore. Told with transparent honesty, it is a testimony that proves you can never wander too far to find your way back into God's grace and purpose for your life.
When you were finally released, you were given a hundred dollars and a bus ticket, and then you had to make the longest walk of your life down this corridor leading up to what they called the Golden Gates, even though they were made of brass. And it's said that as you make this long walk back to freedom, it's bad luck to look back even once. To turn back, you'd be cursing yourself to get locked up again someday.
I took that walk to the Golden Gates, and I never turned back.
