Dated on p. 144: Charlestown, June 20, 1796. Recorded twice by Evans, and in one instance attributed to John C. Chamberlain (Evans 30180). The work was edited by Chamberlain. Cf. Vail, R.W.G. The voice of the old frontier, p. 415. Evans notes that some copies were printed on thick paper.
