This parody adaptation, written and directed by Bradley Bredeweg and first produced in LA in 2018, is definitely aiming for the opposite end of the cultural spectrum. Scissorhandz takes the story of an artificial human, left alone in a mansion after his inventor dies only to be discovered by a kindly Avon lady and brought into 1950s suburbia, and opts to tell it through a medley of pop-rock hits from the last 40 years.
