Say you’ve got a science story you’re bursting to tell and show. Here are five suggestions:
1 Consider what image appeals to you most about your subject. Imagine your comic is about father Empire penguins, which walk miles from their feeding grounds to their nests. What part of that process do you think will be the most appealing visually? The walk? A map? A chick? A papa penguin sitting on his egg?
2 How does your story begin and end? Figuring this out can help you decide what happens in the middle.
3 Now think how you want readers/viewers to move across the space of your comic. Do you want them to read left to right and top to bottom as if they were reading text on a page? Or…
