WEEKS BEFORE its Detroit show debut, one of our spies nabbed the 2009 Ford F-150 bereft of camouflage. Look closely and you’ll see every panel is new; codenamed P415, this F-150 is more than just a facelift of Ford’s best-seller. Check the taller front hood, with a big grille that riffs off Peter Horbury’s 2006 Super Chief concept, more elegant taillights, and chiseled body side. What you can’t see is a dramatically improved interior. The on-again, off-again 6.2-liter Hurricane V-8 is still on-again, but not likely to bow with the truck. Ford also plans an SVT version and a V-6 turbodiesel. Whisper out of Dearborn is the number of trim levels has been increased to seven. With its production schedule moved up to keep up with Silverado and Tundra, the new F-150 launches…
