Honda 1800 GoldWing Airbag

Honda propose depuis 2006 une GoldWing équipée d’une option airbag. À la différence des airbags embarqués dans les vêtements, ce dernier se justifie principalement en cas de choc avant. Techniquement, il s’agit d’un airbag électronique : des capteurs situés sur la fourche informent un calculateur qui commande le gonflage de l’énorme coussin en percutant une cartouche d’azote. Sous pression, ce coussin absorbe une partie de l’énergie cinétique accumulée par le pilote lorsqu’il est projeté vers l’avant.
