Chatting to MOJO via an interpreter over Zoom, the long-running Tokyo trio – completed by lead guitarist Wata and bassist/rhythm guitarist Takeshi, with all three sharing vocal duties – illustrate their eclectic creativity by nominating personal cult heroes. Wata cites the influence of David Gilmour, while Atsuo opts for the “methods and sensibilities” of canonical Russian art house director Andrei Tarkovsky.
