Alicia was inspired to write this book to bring attention to the rare, severe and possibly deadly allergic reaction known as Stevens Johnsons Syndrome / Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis. (SJS/TENS primarily involves damage to the skin and mucous membranes.) Her mission was to give awareness to this horrific reaction/disease by sharing her experiences with the hope it could possibly help even if only one life then her pain and suffering, along with those who lost their life would not have been in vain. As she wrote, Alicia began to realize her story has much more to offer. She speaks of self awareness, codependency, personal healing along with spiritual growth. Reinforcing a well known fact...we heal best when we heal body mind and Spirit. Alicia invites you to discover the beauty in healing from the inside out. The meaning of shedding the old regardless of the pain. Reminding ourselves that we are never alone and there is joy and brightness in what's to come. Taking full responsibility for all our experiences and truly letting go of the things we can not control is a learning process. There is no right or wrong way to do it and no timeline of completion. It's a journey of healing while experiencing joy that continue to expand.
