COMBINING THE ANGULARITY of Helmet and Seattle grunge with Deftones-esque melody lines and a blizzard of My Bloody Valentine shoegaze, Narrow Head’s sound is an arresting storm of 90s texture and tone. But it’s taken a while for the Texans to cut through the noise.
“No one was paying attention to us,” says vocalist and guitarist Jacob Duarte on why the band’s second album, 12th House Rock, which was recorded two years ago, is only getting its release now. “No one was really biting, so we were like, ‘Fuck it, whatever. We’ll keep going on tours.’”
