Marriage is Murder: The Door County SpecialBooked for murder! Is the stress of modern life poisoning your outlook? Perhaps a hilarious cozy murder mystery is just the antidote you require. Marriage is Murder is a humorous cozy mystery set in the rolling green hills of the Door Peninsula on the shores of Lake Michigan. Twenty-something Tabby Nolan, the protagonist and amateur sleuth, and her best friend Krystal (the punk rocker formerly known as Constance) attend the wedding of their friend Brook Rothwell on the estate of Brook's rich uncle Rex. Uncle Rex is hated by many, including his wife, his two current mistresses, his business partner, his nephews and their girlfriends, the butler, the maid, the cook, the chauffeur, and the gardener. With a plethora of suspects and a body which keeps disappearing and reappearing in the most unlikely places, Tabby and Krystal race against time to solve the murder as the clock ticks inexorably toward two o'clock. At that time Brook's fate will be sealed and his marriage to bridezilla Holly will be a fait accompli. Meanwhile, Krystal faints each time the body turns up in the wine cellar, the library, at the pool, in the stables, in the den, and finally in the fourth-floor attic bedroom. Matters are complicated when a second body, that of the undergardener, is unearthed in the delphiniums. Cuckoo the kitten aids Tabby and Krystal in their quest to find the murderer. Krystal delivers one-liners on every page and sprinkles her wry comments with classic malapropisms, supplying the reader with a constant source of comic relief as the puzzle deepens and the red herrings mount. Tabby and Krystal are classic movie buffs, and each chapter is named with the title of a classic film. Recipes for a complete wedding feast are provided at the end.Kathy Buchen Beson has worked for many years as a librarian near her hometown of Appleton, Wisconsin.
