Pieter en Esmari (Esi) Ehlers is albei Suid-Afrikaners wat kort ná hul wittebrood in 2013 op die plaas Orupemparora, sowat 12 km buite Otjiwarongo, kom nesskop het. Orupemparora behoort al van oupa Daantjie Ehlers se tyd af aan Pieter se familie. “Oupa Daantjie was ’n bekende in dié geweste, ’n man wat jonk-jonk van Piketberg af agterop ’n Willys Jeep op grondpad tot in Namibië gekom het, sodat hy kon gaan boer op ’n plek waar wilde leeus die beeste pla,” vertel Pieter. “My ma en pa was hier op skool. My oupa Greeff was die prokureur op die dorp en my ouma Greeff was vir jare ’n geliefde onderwyseres.
