Lucas Stone, full-time sheriff, part-time preacher, and sometimes-vigilante, stumbles into a war between local truckers and a biker gang. The rural highways of Garrison County have become road-raging kill zones and the corpses are starting to stack up like cordwood.
Pulling the strings is The Remnant, an army of neo-Nazi terrorists. When the feds get involved, Stone finds himself playing second fiddle to Tanya Bester, an FBI supervisor with a chip on her shoulder and a mile-wide competitive streak. Not content to just take over his investigation, Bester invades Stone's personal life as well.
The battle between the truckers and bikers is just a warmup for a wider war. The Remnant is determined to make a lethal power play against a government they deem weak and corrupt. When Stone stands in their way, they set their crosshairs on Whisper Falls, targeting law dogs and laymen with impunity.
The Remnant believe they are a ruthless, irresistible force. But they are about to slam against Stone's cold, immoveable belief in primal justice.
