Kapil's Samkhya and Patanjali's Yoga is inspired by the teachings of Swami Bawra. It was initially compiled in 2003 to assist our Yoga teacher training in the United States. We wanted to emphasize the traditional pairing of Yoga with Samkhya. This book focuses on practice and the necessary congruence of the philosophy of Samkhya with Yoga to explain how energy and consciousness are mutually present as the eternal changing and eternal unchanging aspects of our experience. To that end, we included the nutshell version of Samkhya--Tattva Samasa with the first two chapters of Patanjali's Yoga. For a more thorough understanding of Samkhya, Samkhya Karika is also available through Brahmrishi Publications.
