What began as a simple spreadsheet tracking Jaguar race car chassis numbers and deep diving “down the rabbit hole” of a racing website in 2018 turned into an exhaustively researched chronicle of Jaguar’s racing history. Neil Smith’s fascination with Group C racing and Jaguar’s motorsport heritage led him to write a comprehensive history of the racing programs, emphasizing the personalities and performance challenges behind the victories. “I was just curious more than anything else,” Smith explains about the initial research. “I thought each of these cars has its own story to tell.
