Relaxing. It's the end goal. End-of-day, holiday, retirement. As I understand it, the point is to get to a place where you can let work ebb, drop your shoulders and elevate your feet. Unfortunately for me (and those in my busy orbit), I'm not great at relaxing. So when four days of utter leisure loom at the superb Regent Phu Quoc on Vietnam's ridiculously quixotic Phu Quoc island and the brief is to ‘relax’, a first-world panic ensues. Travel for me is rarely a flop-and-drop deal. Sure, some poolside action around the edges of a plumped itinerary is permitted.
