In a nod to the 1960s conversation pit, this sunken space under an existing cherry tree lends just the right amount of interest to its poolside location in Sydney. The manicured buxus hedging and limestone masonry walls foster a cosy sense of containment while the change in height adds to the garden’s sense of scale.
