Craft has hit the big time this year with the release of a playful artisan range by high-end Spanish bag maker Loewe. Launched in collaboration with Sotheby’s auction house and its Buy Now online marketplace, the Loewe Weaves project includes bags and bracelets as well as a series of woven and knotted vessels that started out as humble clay chestnut roasters from Galicia. Seven international artists, with a range of cultural and technical backgrounds, were asked to embellish them for a one-off auction in May.
