What began as a basic brief for a revamped backyard led to a major property overhaul - and a big career change for the owner

For proof of the transformative power of a garden, look no further than this perennial paradise in Sydney’s south. The inspired creation by Adam McDonald of Impressions Landscape – Design has not only turned an ordinary outdoor space into a lush retreat, but also owner Trish Denzel into a self-confessed ‘plant nerd’. These spaces nurtured a passion for gardens, prompting her to switch careers and join the landscaping industry. When once she couldn’t tell her sedums from her salvias, she now enthuses about all things botanical.
