Mid-century style takes the lead in this contemporary garden

Garden and architecture are cleverly interwoven at this home on the NSW Central Coast. Porphyry crazy paving from Eco Outdoor, a fabulous flight of fancy by the garden’s creator, Michael Cooke, laid the way for the owners’ mid-century homage, followed by well-chosen plants. The upstanding Sansevieria trifasciata, aka the awkwardly named mother-in-law’s tongue, boasts Mad Men credentials (yes, Don Draper had them in his uber-cool apartment), while breeze-loving Miscanthus ‘Kleine Fontaine’ grass provides a counterpoint to the straight and angular lines of the house.…
