Johanna Måwe was on maternity leave with her third child in 2018 when she and her family moved into their new home, a 1910 villa in Vallentuna, Stockholm. Every time her youngest, Saga, had a nap, Johanna would either paint a wall or try to finish off one of the countless DIY projects required to make the house more liveable, then post a picture of it. Her Instagram account @maawingedesign quickly gained lots of followers who loved her work, and she became well-known in Sweden for her beautiful DIY projects as she transformed the house.
