All I want is a little house by the sea. It could have happened during that big Covid-19 exodus from cities to regional centres, but the thing is, the Inside Out team really does need to be at our city HQ on a regular basis. So my move didn’t happen. But it still could. I really don’t mind if my little house is not perfectly beachfront because I know just how much maintenance that requires. My mum and dad live by the ocean and are forever bemoaning their rusted window fixtures, corroded toasters and kettles, and flaking paintwork everywhere outside, thanks to ocean mists and salty spray. That’s one of the reasons we asked regular contributor Shannon Vos to investigate some good material choices for seaside living (page 144). Building beach houses…
