… time appears to stand still when I sit down to work. I’ve confronted a lot of emotions in my garage sanctuary, my sacred space where I am free to be wholly and completely me. Random bugs make their way through the cracks in the door and concrete, but I don’t mind — they give me a moment to pause and remember that people share this world with other beings. It’s the one place in all of LA where I seem to actually feel the seasons. There are seasons when the studio and pieces that aren’t quite finished wait for my return, and seasons when I and it are blooming with inspiration and a flurry of work and impromptu solo dance parties.
