With the availability of a new kit, a “bulletproof” finish is now within everyone’s reach — but proper preparation is the trick

Someone once remarked that a building is Only as strong as its foundation, then directly compared this to auto painting. It went something like this: A paint job is only as good as its foundation. This gifted philosopher is believed to be correct, but as progress would have it, one topnotch painter of note is bending the rules a bit, in favor of the backyard enthusiasts. The guy is Joe Andersen of Gardena, California. Joe is no newcomer to custom painting; he has operated his own shop since the age of sixteen, and has at one time or another applied his talent to most of the leading race cars on the West Coast.
